As of today, Jan 23 2009, there remain significant bugs in the Feedburner to Google Account transfer process.
We here at RKG hit the “migrate” button too quickly. Now have some heavy lifting to get our RSS working again. (Perhaps we’ll drop FB until it works?) We’re not alone: the phrase “google feedburner transfer broken” returns 37K hits on Google today.
Apologies to all our readers experiencing disruptions due to FB/Google server problems. What a mess.
Feedburner users: we recommend delaying this migration as long as possible, until the process works.

Just made the migration a few days ago and have watched the number of subscribers bounce all over the place each day since, which is clearly the result of some early bugs. I’m hoping they will get this ironed out in a reasonable amount of time, but for the time being, I’m essentially in the dark.
On Jan 17, my Feedburner subs dropped from 1117 to 561 – and I didn’t even switch to Google Account!
Perhaps someone at Google did not like how Feedburner was counting subscribers…

A conspiracy theorist could suggest that lower FB counts would entail lower AdSense payouts to publishers.
We don’t run ads in our feed, nor do we intend to do so.
But I find it ironic that the official Feedburner blog has been shut down and replaced with the AdSense For Feeds blog.
Really. I’m not making that up.
More on the technical side of the transition soon. Several bugs involved, most on our side (oops!), but at least one on the FB side too.
It is still broken and now it’s May. What a freaking nightmare. I can’t straighten my feed out and I have been trying all morning. It’s really aggravating. I would suggest staying away from feedburner still. It isn’t safe.
We’ve had no problems since January 24th or so. Still miss the old UI and stats.
