I’m looking forward to presenting at Internet Retailer’s new Web Design Conference, January 30 through February 1, in sunny Miami.

The folks at IR have put together a great event devoted solely to front end design and how it helps your site sell.

Cool bonus feature: they’re providing a full-day of 1:1 design consultations, free to attendees who sign up in advance. I’m pleased to be among the folks providing these consultations: you can learn more about them here.

I’m also looking forward to sharing the stage with Glenn Edelman of Wine Enthusiast. Later in the show, Glenn and I will be speaking about site search, providing tips on selecting a tool that helps people find stuff via browse or search, and why the solution you choose needs to be able to flex– based on what you learn via site testing and analytics. (Like just about everything else on your site, this is not set it and forget it.)

If you’ll be at the show in Miami and want to meet up, drop me a line I’m always up for talking site design, or music (my other passion) or sunscreen — I’ll be the pale guy drinking iced coffee.

Hope to see you there!

Your presentation was certainly worth waiting for! It’s tempting for developers and clients to push site search to a corner of their page and forget about it, but it really is the best opportunity to hear your customers speak loud and clear about their desires. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Jeff. I’m glad you found the session useful. After three days, (and in my case, 21 mini-design consultations) I was concerned about that Friday 3.30 slot and was glad to find such an energetic and large turnout. People really do care about site search. I hope the conference was a success for you!
