Not the freshest news, but if folks haven’t heard about it, a new trade association for catalogers launched in May: the American Catalog Mailers Association.
ACMA has a strong lobbying bent and is starting out strong. In their first few months, ACMA has intervened in a postal rate commission on catalog postage discounts (negotiated service agreements), met with Senate staff on the impact of the recent postal increase, set up a program to have congressmen visit catalogers, and been accepted to the UPS mailer’s technical advisory committee. They’re speaking at Fall NEMOA and planning their own summit.
If you market via catalogs, check out ACMA.
