Last week I wrote a post on computing optimal ppc bids.

In an note following the post, I mentioned I put a little thought into choosing a traffic-friendly title, and I volunteered to report back in how the post did.

Well, whether the post succeeded due to content or due to title (the answer is likely “both”), the post did set a 30 day high for traffic, as well as gaining some nice inbound links.

(Aside: I still feel like I can’t see anything in the blogosphere anymore given the changes at Technorati. Grrrr! Need to look into other blog search options.)

Takeway for marketers: titles continue to matter a great deal.

* Good titles help pages (SEO).

* Good titles help blog posts (RSS).

* And good titles held products (CSEs).
