Custom Excel Graph Types

As a long-time heavy Excel user, I shared Paul Kedrosky’s frustration with formatting Excel graphs.

Wes of Money Cuts Both Ways provided a simple answer:

  1. Design a chart that you like.
  2. Right click on it, select “Chart Type.”
  3. Select “Cutom Types” tab.
  4. Select “User Defined” radio button.
  5. Click “Add” button and name your new style.
  6. You can also set any chart type (built in or custom) to the “default” style.

Great timesaving tip!

Ha! I’m glad that you found that tip helpful. I joke with my friends that my entire career is based on excel. One day I’ll tell my grandkids about what I did and they’ll just look at me funny. ; )
