A Google Tipping Point? No.
Google’s had some recent minor stumbles: overpromoting their own products in top-of-page “tips”, losing 60 gmail accounts, suffering a Gmail javascript security exploit, closing down new applications for the SOAP search api.
Some pundits have jumped on this these small issues as indication that Google’s reached a tipping point and public goodwill will rapidly swing away from the search giant.
Danny Sullivan at SearchEngineLand offers a wise blog post with relevant historical perspective: we’ve heard these tipping point arguments before, at least a 14 times over the last few years.
