		<description>I agree, Penny. rel=canonical isn&#039;t going away, even though it&#039;s ironic Google is the only engine really supporting it. While I do think it makes sense to use in some situations, I&#039;m also leary of putting too much faith in (what is currently) a Google-specific hack. If you can, 301 and fix things at the foundation. But if you can&#039;t, go for the easy link canonical band-aid.</description>

		<description>Nice recap. Very interesting speculation on the use of 302s for cleaning up site structure. We implemented rel canonical several months ago and it certainly hasn&#039;t hurt us (best rankings we&#039;ve ever seen...although certainly cannot attach them directly to the update).

I really think this is a pretty straight forward issue. Google is literally begging sites to implement rel canonical. Seems pretty simple to me.</description>
